Tobacco giants BAT and Imperial have joined forces to lobby against UK government plans stipulating that all cigarettes in plain, design-free packaging. A move that would likely counterfeiters by removing the requirement for counterfeiters to copy logos or multi-color designs, a move that tobacco firms' argue would only result in making cigarettes more easily available with brands losing out on price.
