Now that health warnings are making ever-larger demands on cigarette pack space, designers are looking for alternative areas in and around the pack with which to communicate with their consumer customers. Eye-catching print positions are available on the overwrap film, on tear tape, on the inner frame and on the inner foil. However, all these locations involve problems of print registration, to ensure that the message is accurately positioned. With global restraints on marketing and advertising, the need to make use of these alternative avenues of communication has intensified. Hence the growth of Industrial Automation Systems Ltd. ― better known as Accu-pac ― to become a global leader in print positioning technology for the tobacco industry.
