摘要

Due to concern over global environmental problems, great hope is being placed in hydrogen absorbing alloys with a high capacity that are suitable for such applications as hydrogen storage tanks and Ni-MH batteries. By using different methods than those used up until now to develop hydrogen absorbing alloys and by adopting a new concept in development work, it has become possible to develop alloys with twice the absorption and description capacity of existing alloys used practically. The newly-developed alloy has the world's best performance in terms of hydrogen desorption capacity at normal temperatures and under normal pressure. In future, we plant to use this concept and further improve performance to allow this newly-developed alloy to go into actual use in such applications as hydrogen tanks and Ni-MH batteries.
