Recycling activities are one crucial aspect of the work of TOYOTA Deutschland GmbH in dealing with environmental issues. This paper gives a general overview of the recycling of end-of-life vehicles in Germany. In 1990, objective were defined for the regulation of the recycling and disposal of end-of-life vehicles. In Response, seven Japanese automakers established a cooperative recycling system in accordance with the Concept of multi-Manufacturer Automobile Recycling (M.A.R.I.). Recently, industries concerned with recycling have established a Voluntary Commitment, to b carried out in Accordance with the laws governing the recycling of end-of-life vehicles. Automobile makers, dealers, Dismantlers, and others are also working on new measures to deal with unresolved issues.
