Utilizing available literature and Thermo-Calc, it was determined that of the nitride forming elements. Ti is the most promising candidate for reducing the free interstitial N in HT-9.Three alloy compositions have been selected for production based on Thermo-Calc predictions and the stoichiometric ratio of Ti:N. One heat with no Ti addition, one heat below the stoichiometric limit, and one heat above the stoichiometric limit are in production.
