Xe-135m Impact on the PCR Measurement of CANDU6 Core

The impact of Xe-135m on the PCR measurement of CANDU6 core was evaluated by an in-house Xenon transient code. It was found that the change in the evaluated value of the PCR as a result of accounting for Xe-135m is quite small in case of using the TENDL-2014 library and it can reduce the evaluated CANDU6 PCR by about -0.2 pcm/%P. Nevertheless, it is very likely that consideration of Xe-135m will make the evaluated CANDU6 PCR noticeably less positive or more negative. Due to the limited nature of the cross section data used in this work, the results are subjected to unknown uncertainties at the moment and more accurate evaluation of the Xe-135m's impact is necessary. In addition, it was also found that the relevant determination of the LZC water levels is critical for a reliable determination of the CANDU6 PCR.
