Cyber security has become a major issue for nuclear installations and their I&C systems, in this fast-evolving threat landscape. A rigorous framework is needed to address this challenging issue. This future series of 1EC standards on I&C cyber security intends to provide such a strong basis. Dedicated work has been underway for four years and it is already clear that this constitutes only a starting point of a sustained effort which will be needed to face the ever growing challenge of cyber security.
