摘要

The US DOE Advanced Gas Reactor Fuel Development and Qualification program is scheduled for insertion of the first fuel irradiation test (AGR-1) into the Idaho Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) at the end of 2006. The Oak Ridge National Laboratory is coating and compacting particle fuel for this irradiation. Extensive quality control measurements are necessary on both the coated particles and the compacts to meet the fuel product specification. Characterization methods have been developed for this purpose and are being performed for four coated particle variants. Methods and measurements will be discussed and an update provided on the current progress.
