Published in quick succession, these two volumes draw The Buddings of Scotland project closer to its imminent conclusion. The esteemed series began with Colin McWilliam's Lothian in 1978 and is scheduled to end with Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire in November 2016. Congratulations are to be afforded to the series editor Charles O'Brien and others who secured the funds necessary to bring the project to completion in quite changed circumstances, having found refuge under the wing of the Paul Mellon Centre and Yale University Press.
