Fortunate enough to house sit for a good friend in the spring of 2015,1 became well used to the local bus service provided by TransGoldfields, an arm of the overarching TransWA. Having used the rather erratic service in previous years, it is pleasing to report that a good local service now exists. This is despite the fact that Kalgoorlie is one of the most car dominant cities in Australia if not the world. It is easy to see why. Walk its suburban streets any day and see the verges and footpaths covered with cars in breach of any number of ordinances never enforced. Yes, the car is king in Kalgoorlie.
