Grocery firm Heron Foods has renewed its contract with Verilocation on telematics, which, it says, is helping with logistics and operational challenges across its 70-strong vehicle fleet. "The suite plays a key role in helping to manage the fleet and, most importantly, the control and reporting systems enable us to maintain 100% compliance," comments Heron head of logistics Karl Dawson. He explains that GPS tracking enables Heron to keep tabs on each vehicle, while also adjusting routes and schedules in response to demand. Additionally, the system enables Heron's fleet managers to monitor driver performance - driving training where required.
