The IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers) and the UK's three leading trade bodies representing logistics are to work together to improve the industry's image - and to attract drivers and technicians. The announcement follows a recent round table involving the FTA (Freight Transport Association), RHA (Road Haulage Association), CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) and IRTE. "The UK's road transport sector is the backbone of its economic infrastructure," comments IRTE executive director Ian Chisholm (right). "By working together we will have a stronger voice and be better able to support road transport professionals, ensuring the long-term viability of the UK's road transport network."
