DAF has announced three axle options for the Euro 6 CF, all of which combine a higher payload for trucks with the 6.7-litre, six-cylinder Paccar PX-7 engine. The first is FAR, with a 7.5-tonne trailing axle and single wheels behind the 11.5-tonne drive axle. This gives the 26-tonne gvw vehicle a body and payload allowance of almost 19 tonnes. The second is FAS, which has twin tyres on the rearmost axle for heavier duty applications such as hookloaders. Both the FAR and FAS are ideal, says DAF, for payload-critical applications in local and regional distribution. Completing the line-up is FAN, offering higher payload with maximum manoeuvrability thanks to a smaller turning circle.
