Transaid is an international development charity that works primarily in Africa to create better, safer and more efficiently managed transport. Through Transaid, members and staff of blue chip transport and logistics companies contribute to important development work in some of Africa's poorest countries. Chris Saunders, CEO of Transaid, has lived and worked in Africa and the Middle East over the last 30 years. As former Head of Save the Children's Regional Office for Southern Africa he was based in Mozambique and Zimbabwe and travelled regularly through the region; he joined Transaid in 2004.
