How many times have engineers heard this after a trenchless project they recommended runs into serious problems during construction? With innovative techniques promising great results at economical costs and minimal construction impacts, who could fault the engineer for giving them a try? The good news is that most engineers are not hearing from a lot of unhappy clients in regards to failed trench-less projects. However, the bad news is, I know of several projects on the West Coast that have put the trenchless industry in a negative light. It is so bad, that owners burned once, will not want to try a trenchless process again. This is not a good scenario for any of us trying to promote this progressive technology.
