Bueltmann Maschinenbau set its new strip preparation line into operation in August 1996. Compared to conventional lines, this strip preparation is characterised by horizontal dereeling of the coils, which makes a complicated handling of small coils in order to load them onto the uncoiler arm by a lifting carriage or crane and C-hook no longer necessary. The line consists of a roller path for coil storage, horizontal uncoiler, vacuum lifting device, strip end cutting and welding device as well as a spiral accumulator. The maximum uncoiling speed is 240m/min, ensuring a continuous production speed of the tube welding line of 120m/min.
