The interaction between titania and lead nitrate has been studied in molten sodium and potessium nitrates medium. The formation of tetragonal lead metatitanate has been established. The rate of the formation and the purity of PbTiO_3 are determined by presence of the intermediate lead oxinitrates which stability depends of the process temperature.
