The preparative convenient synthesis of previously unknown 2-(β-Aryl-a- benzoylvinyl)-1H-benzimidazoles was elaborated by the reaction of 2-phenacyl-1H-benzimidazole with aromatic aldehydes. Exclusive or primary E-configuration of obtained compounds is established by the PMR method. 6-Benzoylbenzimidazo[1,2-a]quinoline and 2-benzoylnitrozomethylen-1,3-dihydro- 1H-benzimidazole were obtained by the interaction of 2-phenacyl-1H-benzimidazole with o- nitrobenzaldehyde.
