Literature data of alkyl substituent effects on preferred conformations of 1,3-dioxanes, 1,3-dithianes and 1,3-oxathianes have been reviewed. Results are presented for the conformational study of 2-boraanalogs of these compounds by empirical (MM2) geometry optimized calculations and NMR ~1H.
