The effect of different factors on the complexation of molybdenum with thiocyanate ions and polymethyne dyes in the presence of surfactants has been studied. Optimal conditions for the complex formation have been found. Basic spectrophotometric characteristics and influence of foreign ions on the complexation have been studied. A highly sensitive and selective method of photometric determination of molybdenum has been worked out.
