Welcome to the August edition of Ultrasound, which, as usual,ncovers a diverse range of topics. It continually amazes me justnhow varied the use of ultrasound is, and certainly keeps mynrole as an editor both interesting and satisfying. Halfwaynthrough the last century, some sceptics said ultrasoundnwould never catch on. And even among the pioneers of thentechnique I doubt very much that they could have anticipatednthat, only decades after initial development, it would now benso widely available, widely used, and so pivotal in medicalndiagnoses. On this thought, I introduce our guest editorialncommenting on the latest RCOG training recommendations,nand kindly provided by Lees and Hinshaw.
