Cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) and fold-and-rnform lining systems are used routinely torntrenchlessly rehabilitate deteriorated grav-rnity flow sewer pipes, and new product de-rnvetopments appear to be opening the wayrnfor using the technologies for pressure-pipernapplications. "A number of companies are developing liners for pressure applications," says Gerry Muenchmeyer, principal of trenchless technology consultants Muenchmeyer Associates. "They include folded HDPE using PE 100 high-strength pipe designed to sustain the operating pressures as well as short-term test pressures. A high-strength CIPP system developed specifically for pressure water lines has been launched and is being installed successfully."
