In his role as 2004 president of NASSCO, David Fletcher has helped steer the association through a prosperous year. NASSCO is a national organization dedicated to establishing and implementing standards for rehabilitating underground utilities. "In a market that has shown increasing growth and maturity in its acceptance and education of trenchless technology, 2004 has proved to be a year when the market has finally stabilized," says Fletcher. "I believe this has set the stage for the industry to enjoy several good years, for 2005 and beyond." Executive director of NASSCO, Irv Gemora, agrees with Fletcher's assessment of the industry. "2004 was a very good year for the industry as a whole and for NASSCO in particular," adds Gemora. "Everything I hear tells me to expect 2005 to be even better for the market and for NASSCO in particular." Gemora went on to explain that after several years of delayed projects, the backlog of work is now spilling over into actual contracts and work orders, which translates into more work for contractors and vendors alike.
