Almost eight years ago, Lawrence Brinker, former Executive Director of Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research (NUAIR) Alliance, was tasked with managing the newly FAA-designated UAS test site. As part of this effort, a partnership with AUVSI and eventual state chapter was formed to augment the growth of the unmanned systems ecosystem. The standing up of the Empire State Chapter is due in large part to Lawrence Brinker and key business leaders like those at Central New York based SRC Inc. The leadership has strived ever since to connect people, communicate ideas, and coordinate efforts between our membership and the larger industry.
