General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is offering humanitarian relief efforts the use of its company-owned Angel One unmanned aircraft, a variant of the jet-propelled Predator C. The vehicle can deliver 8,500 pounds of Humanitarian Daily Ration packets, enough to feed 3,400 people per day. Angel One uses a specially designed internal bay door release mechanism that allows for two packet drops per aid mission. This means it can deliver the HDRs evenly, which the company says ensures greater delivery success than traditional pallet aid drops.
