AeroVironment, of Simi Valley, California, announced in late November that the U.S. Marine Corps has placed a $13 million firm fixed-priced order for the RQ-20A Puma AE, along with initial spares packages. The Marines use the electric version of the Puma for its small unit remote scouting system, along with the RQ-11B Raven and the RQ-12A Wasp AE, also from AeroVironment. The delivery, which was contracted via ADS Inc. through the Defense Logistics Agency Tailored Logistics program, is scheduled for the next 12 months.
