After two years of testing and more than 70 deployments to search for missing persons, monitor traffic and control crowds, Belgium Police MidLim announced that it will use a new Altura Zenith unmanned aerial system from Aerialtronics. "We can use it for detective work, maintaining public order, aerial photographs and searching for missing persons," says Police Chief Frank Mulleners. The UAS has a livestream video connection and thermal camera that is valuable in detecting a human presence in search-and-res-cue operations with low visibility. Mulleners lauds the time and cost savings associated with using the UAS.
