IRobot will deliver its 110 FirstLook robots and accessories to the U.S. Navy under a $4 million contract, with deliveries due by February 2016. The FirstLook is a five-pound, compact robot capable of persistent observation as well as providing immediate situational awareness. It can integrate numerous third-party sensors, including hazardous material sensors, thermal imagers, and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, among others. It can also be outfitted with a small robotic arm.
