SeaBotix's vLBV300 remotely operated vehicle recently was deployed by the Canadian Armed Forces for a mission to explore the wreckage of an 1850s vessel that was lost in the Arctic waters surrounding the country. ROVs have explored the area before, but this was the first time one entered into the HMS Breadalbane's cabin. "It was in very good condition in that cold water," said Mike Wash, sales engineer for SeaBotix. The operation to get to the wreckage was extensive. A ship had to get to the location, and then the crew had to drill through four feet of ice to get the ROV in the water.
