Aurora Flight Sciences and partners ThinGap and Trust Automation have produced an advanced lift fan aimed at vertical takeoff and landing operations, one that uses a DC brushless ring motor, a high switching rate controller and a ducted fan to minimize the amount of debris kicked up during operations.
