Switzerland's Pix4D teamed with Brigham Young University, Utah, to survey areas in Petra, Jordan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The work resulted in the first high-resolution, georeferenced mosaic and 3-D model to be made of the area. New structures were discovered, including the likely remains of a Byzantine-era church and two large stone circles dubbed the "great circle," according to Pix4D, which used its Pix4uav software on a Gatewing X100 unmanned aircraft.
