There are numerous kinds of fallout stemming from the Japanese disaster at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant in the wake of Japan's recent earthquake and tsunami. The most obvious is the radioactivity and its harm to the heroic plant workers seeking to contain the deadly emissions. There is also the fallout on the health of the nearby residents and the potential damage to the water and food supply. The economic and political fallout from the secondary and tertiary impacts of this disaster can also be pervasive and have long term consequences.
