While the Costa Mesa Sheriffs Orifice is demonstrating the use of its quadrotor UAS for county-wide operations in Colorado, law enforcement watchers will also be keeping track of the Arlington police department in Texas, which also has been granted a COA to fly a small UAS. "What we hope to do along with the Department of Justice and the FAA's continued oversight of the program is find what works in law enforcement and establish clear training equipment and capabilities for law enforcement as [UAS] expand more and more around the country," says Arlington Police Deputy Chief Lauretta Hill.
