Kelvin Scribner extends his open palm, cradling a device smaller than a smartphone. Measured in mere grams, the XPS-TR is the smallest aviation transponder in the world. And, just as the smartphone has radically improved how we communicate, this diminutive new transponder could do the same for unmanned aerial vehicles. "This is the golden age for unmanned aviation," says Kelvin Scribner, founder and president of Sagetech Corp., which developed and manufactures the XP family of transponders. "Innovations like our new transponders just keep pushing the envelope of what we as an industry can do with UAVs."
