Unmanned systems, in the forms of networked sensors and autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles, could have a big impact in years to come on the field of agriculture. That was the message at the Agricultural UAS Conference, the first event sponsored by AUVSI's Atlanta Chapter. The agriculture business is no stranger to high tech, but more can be done, according to several of the speakers. Farm work is often dull, dirty and dangerous, just the sort of situation where robots come in handy.
