CyPhy Works, the new company established by iRobot co-founder Helen Greiner, is among 20 companies to receive funding under the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Technology Innovation Program (TIP).rnThe Framingham, Mass.-based company will develop the technologies required to create small, hovering unmanned aircraft for inspecting and monitoring large-scale civil infrastructure elements such as bridges and dams. The award from NIST will total $2.4 million over the next three years to support direct project costs, Greiner says.
