A $5,000 robot-intended to be a teaching tool-instead became a crime victim when it was stolen from the vehicle of a Portland State University professor, according to the Oregonian newspaper.rnThe Propeller QuadRover, donated tornphysics professor Erik Sanchez by builder Parallax Inc. of Rocklin, Calif., is a four-wheeled programmable robot that's small-29 inches long and 19 inches high-but tough. A video posted on YouTube shows a QuadRover towing a pickup truck.rnSanchez, who planned to use the vehicle for his advanced physics classes, told the Oregonian that "it has an autonomous brain. You can program it to be smart."
