The U.S. Navy is seeking ideas and solutions for Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs). A recent Navy-sponsored industry day in Arlington, VA encouraged science and technology efforts to deliver better command and control systems, combat capability and launch and recovery systems. The effort is focused on USVs that will operate with the Littoral Combat Ship. The forum was sponsored by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
