The main industries of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, include oil and gas, agriculture, cattle and defense research, but as the home of the Canadian Centre for Unmanned Vehicle Systems (CCUVS), it's also a hub for unmanned systems development, testing and evaluation.rnCCUVS, an independent, not-for-profit company formed in 2006, is currendy working with Canadian and other clients on test and evaluation services. One of its most attractive features is access to a large amount of military and restricted range space and testing grounds through its relationships with several Canadian government agencies and the Department of National Defence and Transport Canada.rnGoose Bay in Labrador is a world-class range that boasts more than 35,000 square miles of flying training space, with all-weather Terrain Following Radar available from takeoff to landing. The Primrose Air Weapons range located in Cold Lake Air Weapons Range is another example of a range available for unmanned aerial system evaluation. Because of the size and isolation of these ranges, CCUVS customers can conduct their trials in confidence with as much privacy and security as they like.
