Proxy Aviation Systems unveiled its Sky Watcher unmanned aircraft system (UAS) at the AUVSI/USN's unmanned aerial vehicle demonstration at the Webster Field Annex of NAS Patuxent River, MD in late-June. The firm's SkyWatcher is a fully-autonomous, optionally-piloted UAS designed for long endurance, low and medium altitude, multi-payload intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Proxy Aviation Systems is targeting the military for contracts, but it also sees emerging civil and international applications for the SkyWatcher UAS. But with advanced capabilities, such as single point management of . up to 12 vehicles, network centric cooperative flight in constellation formation and end-user tasking to meet required mission applications, SkyWatcher can execute critical missions using fewer resources and personnel than other systems. Proxy Aviation also says SkyWatcher offers high reliability, persistence and survivability, enabling the system to execute high-end tactical and low-end strategic missions.
