MicroPilot's miniature MP2000 is a low-cost, integrated Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) autopilot that offers many capabilities normally found on larger units. Through ongoing development, the Canadian company has released an even smaller autopilot, along with a full complement of products for the UAV market. MicroPilot recently unveiled the MP2028, the next generation of MicroPilot UAV autopilots. Weighing only 28 grams, the MP2028 establishes a new benchmark for lightweight autopilots. With dimensions of 10 cm in length, by 4 cm in width, by 1.5 cm in height, the MP2028 is believed to be the world s smallest UAV autopilot. The capabilities of the MP2028 were not sacrificed in order to achieve this small size and the MP2028 retains all the capabilities of the MP2000. Featuring a number of technical and operational advancements, the MP2028 packs everything ― including all sensors and a GPS receiver, into a scant 28 grams ― roughly one ounce.
