The Aerosonde Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was conceived in 1992 and has since evolved through a working prototype in 1995 to a commercially operational vehicle today. It has undertaken some impressive missions, the longest being over 36h and the greatest distance being a record-breaking flight across the North Atlantic in 1998.
