Computer has won the war, and times will con-tinue to be tough in a saturated market. This view is fair enough to a degree, but the popular assessment doesn't sum up all that is happening in the industry these days. While many have predicted 2002 will be another bleak year, the PC will continue to evolve into more than just a traditional productivity or Internet tool. The PC is an important part of a bigger movement toward the convergence of digital content across all media. Instead of focusing on increased memory and speed, manufacturers are touting wireless capabilities and embedded features that not only provide greater convenience but also save time and money. The challenge for the market players is to get that message across to consumers and enterprises alike.
