Craig A. Conway grew up in the Midwest and went to the State University of New York College at Brockport, where he majored in computer science and math. He worked for TymShare in Cupertino, Calif., then Atari―when it was part of Warner Communications―and then Digital Research, where he ran worldwide OEM sales. In 1985, he joined Oracle, then a $13 million per annum company, as vice president of operations in corporate sales. He stayed with Oracle for eight years, leaving as executive vice president of marketing. When Conway left Oracle, the company was at $1.8 billion in sales. Today, Conway leads PeopleSoft as president and CEO as it exceeds $1.8 billion in annual sales and employs 8,000 people in 26 countries, with 40 percent of its revenue coming from outside of the United States.
