THAILAND'S PTTEP is taking steps to have new offshore production facilities ready for the large Erawan gas and condensate project after it takes over as operator in April 2022. A joint venture between PTTEP and Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Petroleum will take over the project in its entirety after beating the current owners US supermajor Chevron and Japan's Mitsui Oil Exploration in an auction last year.
