摘要

UK supermajor BP is upbeat about future phases of its Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) liquefied natural gas development offshore Mauritania and Senegal following the resumption of work after force majeure was declared last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. BP chief financial officer Murray Auchincloss said this week that the sweep of coronavirus across Mauritania and Senegal -the maritime boundaries of which the development straddles - had made things "tricky" for BP and partner Kosmos Energy on the first phase of the scheme. However, the large gas reserves associated with the development is cause for optimism and the partners are continuing to "optimise phase two and phase three", Auchincloss said. "We are back to work now," said Auchincloss on a call to discuss BP's first-quarter results.
