摘要

Are planners' stories interesting or useful out of the specific national context in which they take place? Are there particular characters and institutional nuts and bolts that make such stories too specific, too much rooted into each planning system or are there lessons that can be useful also for other contexts? This is the main node that emerges while reading Daniela De Leo and John Forester's book, Reimagining Planning: How Italian Urban Planners Are Changing Planning Practices, a collection of long practice-focused interviews to Italian planning professionals, following the well-known Deweyan model of learning in and through practice, experimented by Forester along his academic career (Forester 2012).
