摘要

On a recent flight from Cleveland to Los Angeles, Brian Michael Bendis grabbed a handful of old Spider-Man comic books from his luggage. Then he abruptly shoved them back in. "All of a sudden, I had this twinge of embarrassment," recalls Bendis, who is 33. "I didn't want to read the comics in front of people." If there's one adult who shouldn't feel silly perusing comics in public, it's Bendis. He writes them for a living. One of his current titles is Ultimate Spider-Man, an updated version of the wall-crawler that Marvel hopes will help rescue its ailing business.
