Avoiding a professional online presence may be hurting your chances of finding a new job, as 35% of employers indicate they are less likely to interview someone if they are unable to find information about that person online, according to a social media recruitment survey of U.S. hiring and human resources managers across industries and company sizes by CareerBuilders, Chicago, ill. Fifty-two percent of employers use social networking sites to research job candidates, up from 43% and 39%, respectively, over the last two years.
