This paper investigates driver sensitivity to vehicle ride response. The objective is to quantify driver perception limit for small changes in typical vehicle behavior. Cab motions are measured on a tractor semi trailer combination for different cab suspension settings. Measured motions are then realized in a motion simulator. Changes are made in small steps by combining measured signals from different settings. Driver sensitivity is finally quantified by time and frequency domain measures.
